Dan Whalen is National Commercial Underwriting Counsel for the Kentucky National Commercial Services operation of Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. He has been in the title business for over 30 years as an attorney and title insurance agent, working in all aspects of the business, including title, escrow, underwriting, management, and business development.

Dan joined the FNF family in 2012 as an operations manager with our sister company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, where he was responsible for commercial and residential transactions in multiple markets. He moved to Kentucky National Commercial Services in 2025, bringing with him a deep understanding of underwriting principles and extensive industry expertise. With his long tenure in the field, Dan provides a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of successfully navigating the complexities of commercial transactions.

Born and raised in Kentucky, Dan earned his bachelor’s degree from Thomas More College in 1990 and his law degree from the University of Kentucky in 1993. He is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Ohio, and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the American Land Title Association and the Ohio Land Title Association.
